Water Dragons- Year of the Dragon

Drawings to celebrate Chinese New Year and year of the dragon! 🐉 🏮 🎇
I believe this year is a ‘wood dragon’ but I decided to draw the local totem of my area The Water Dragon (Intellagama lesueurii). My local bushland has a large creek that winds and bends like a dragon, but it not uncommon to spot these reptiles sunning on rocks near the creek.

I enjoyed extending artistic license combining eastern dragon motifs with the characteristics of the native water dragon.
The inking I complete using a combination of felt tip and ball point black ink pens.
